While using Mac and since last year windows I've used and continue to use Linux for all my business and all around computing, on a dual booted separate ssd drive. You can even do some video production with it. Reaper is both beauty and the beast and nothing comes close. I've studied cubase and protools last year prior to settling with Reaper. I've used Mac and Logic for a decade and cakewalk prior. There's another guy who made some voice over videos on reaper too, but I'll see search his name for you.

I've also seen quite a few voice over video tutorials on it. Reaper has great audio editing power and the workflow is very flexible, customizable, and efficient once you tailor it to your liking. OP if you are working on voice and audio plus video I would strongly recommend Reaper and DaVinci as you are inclined to.

Hateful, immature comments will simply be ignored. I appreciate your thoughtful and experienced comments and suggestions on this. In other words, I am willing to move forward in terms of difficulty, not moving backward, like using Audacity's spectrum view (which I tested and is not compatible with the specificity I need in my work). I need a solid, paid, pro-high-quality spectrum analyzer, that also allows me to mix and master professionally.īefore I decided to experiment with Linux, I was planning to buy Izotope RX7 and invest time to study the plugin. Please note that I do not work with VSTs, sequencing, synthesizers, and MIDI anymore.

The point is I am not satisfied with the software available to run on Linux in terms of "audio editing", "audio analyzing" and "audio repairing. I am planning to migrate to Linux (probably Debian) and I have a close person/adm to assist me with that. For this, I've found Audition to be very, very easy to use and very efficient in my spectrum analyzing, vocal recording improvements and audio repairing/cleaning.

I've already worked with Music production (Cubase and Pro Tools) in the past but now I focus on: vocal audio editing (my recordings and other people's recordings, both in-studio and out of the studio), mixing and mastering. My name is Amanda and I am a voice actress and audio engineer.
